Textile Printing: Linen Cushion Covers Saturday 23 November | 1pm - 4pm | $108 with Tutor Katie Smith This exclusive textile printing workshop is tailored for craft enthusiasts. An introduction to textile art through block printing. You will get to enjoy the meditative process of pattern therapy while designing two spectacular large linen cushion covers. Take a break from what can often be chaotic with hectic schedules. This opportunity is time to slow down and let creativity flourish. Dedicate three hours to this workshop where you’ll craft a set of unique textile stamps. You will then use your handcrafted stamps to imprint patterns onto luxurious linen. The linen pieces will result in a delightful pair of cushion covers, each measuring 45cm square. How cool is that! Katie from Smitten Design will use simple instruction showing you the techniques of pattern repetition. Katie has a huge amount of experience and will share inspirational ideas with you. If you have plenty design ideas of your own, then bring those along too. Sometimes the simplest of ideas gain the best results with textile printing. First you will get started creating your block. To ensure your mastery, you will then begin practicing the repetition of your patterns on squares of calico. Through this practice you will refine your techniques before working on your cushion cover linen pieces. Take pleasure from a thoughtfully selected palette of vibrant colours all at your disposal. As you apply your tools to the design and imprint your imagination onto fabric, you’ll find your printing will mirror your thought-out vision. Everything is provided for this workshop.
