Life Drawing - Untutored

Start Date: Tuesday 01 October 2024

Venue: Port Chalmers Library, Dunedin, Otago

Doors Open: 06:15pm

Time: 06:15pm - 07:15pm

Restrictions: All Ages

These monthly sessions are for people wanting to develop and improve their drawing skills. From absolute beginners to well-established artists. However good or bad you think you are, there is no judgement, you don't have to show your work if you don't want to, we won't grade you. We are all just there to draw. You might pick up a few helpful hints from the other drawers but essentially, these sessions are untutored and provide the opportunity to practice drawing the human body. It can be a nice way to relax and, with regular practice, you will inevitably gain confidence in your ability to draw (if you don't already have that confidence).

The Rolfe Room is a comfortable, carpeted room within in Port Chalmers Public Library Building with access to toilets. There should be enough free parking spots right outside the entrance or, if you use the bus, the bus stop is a very short walk away. We supply plenty of basic materials: newsprint, charcoal, pencils, drawing boards and clips but, you can bring your own if you'd prefer. Our model starts promptly with short poses for you to warm up with then gradually increases the length of time, usually ending with a 40-minute pose.

We need a minimum of five confirmed bookings to cover the costs of running these sessions. There are 12 spaces in total. You'll be notified a few days beforehand if there are insufficient numbers as, we'll cancel any that don't meet the minimum.

Note:- cancellations within 24hrs of your booked session or, no-shows = no refund.

[If you're interested in booking a group of up to 10 people for a semi-tutored session on a different day or time, get in touch, we will gladly arrange a tailor-made package]
