Wairea Company proudly presents ‘The Voices in the Shadows’ by Rangipo Ihakara, and featuring Tame Iti. This Indigenous musical explores the journey from darkness to light, offering cultural insights and truths about colonization, language, and cultural suppression. It reflects on historical experiences while fostering hope for the future through music, contemporary dance, and the voices of Mãori, Pacific and Palestinian cultures. Wairea Company is not just a performing arts company, they are a collaborative company and a home for Indigenous creatives, a safe space for our tamariki and adults to create, share, network and work together here in the Bay Of Plenty, with the support of Wairea in the hopes of growing and developing the art sector.
