Their mission is to celebrate and promote the rich and diverse world of blues music, bringing together top talent and passionate fans from across the nation. Adding to the festive atmosphere, local pit masters and winners of the “Cooks on Fire” TV show, Black Label Barbecue, will be back again this year. Shaun and Alia entered the world of competitive barbecue in 2018, stacking up numerous trophies across low and slow, and hot and fast categories. Last year, their food was such a fan favorite, they sold out. Black Label Barbecue won’t be the only smoky, Savoury and sweet BBQ masters on site. This festival is a true paradise for BBQ lovers, providing the opportunity to check out New Zealand’s best pitmasters as they compete in two internationally sanctioned BBQ competitions. While these teams are cooking purely for the judges, there will be many delicious vendors covering your favorite hot & fast and traditional low & slow barbecue. For those wanting to up their own BBQ game, there will be a range of BBQ-related retailers ready with deals, and a schedule of demonstrations, tastings, and classes over the festival weekend.
