Make Mozzarella - A Workshop For Adult-Child Pairs

Start Date: Sunday 20 October 2024

Venue: Riverside Community Cultural Centre, Motueka, Nelson / Tasman

Doors Open: 10:00am

Time: 10:00am - 11:30am

Restrictions: All Ages

Join Tanja and Verena from Riverside Education for a fun-filled and slightly messy Mozzarella-making workshop, perfect for kids and their guardians! In this hands-on class, you'll learn to make Mozzarella using fresh cow's milk from our local farm. Under the guidance of our expert cheese-makers, you’ll pick up valuable tips and techniques for crafting this delicious cheese.

Participants will work in pairs and, by the end of the session, each team will take home their very own ball of Mozzarella and the recipe. This workshop isn't just about cheese-making—it's a fantastic opportunity for children and their guardians to bond through shared activity, communication, and teamwork.

Making Mozzarella involves handling hot water, so all participants need to bring a new pair of thick kitchen gloves that fit well. Reserve your spot today and create some unforgettable memories (and cheese) with your favorite young person!

Limited to 6 adult-child pairs. $20 per pair. Bookings close Friday, 18th October at 2pm. Book here: https://www.riverside.org.nz/event-details/make-mozzarella-a-workshop-for-adult-child-pairs

Please note that we will be using Riverside Milk which is RAW milk and may not be suitable for everyone's consumption. The Ministry of Primary Industries advises the following: ‘Raw milk may contain microorganisms that can cause serious illness. To reduce the risk of illness, raw milk should be heated to at least 70 degree Celsius for one minute. This is critical for infants, young children, the elderly, pregnant women and people with weakened immune systems.’
