Mauao closures for track maintenance this week

The Tauranga City Council are advising the public of closures to the Mauao Track next week

Mauao will be closed during the following times, including an all-mountain closure, for the upgrading and resurfacing of the Waikorire track.

• Waikorire track closed: 8am Monday, 12 October to 4pm Friday, 16 October
• All of Mauao closed, all tracks: 7am to 4.30pm, Wednesday 14 October and Thursday 15 October (Friday 16 October if needed). This means, there will be no public access during this time.

As helicopters will be used during these works, the closures are to ensure public safety.

Signage and barriers will be in place at all closure points. Closures will be weather dependent.

Access to the summit on Monday, Tuesday (and Friday, if works are complete) will be via the 4x4 track and the Oruahine track.
