This Chinese tech giant, worth $4.8bn, just launched a fully AI music streaming service
Chinese tech giant Kunlun Tech, valued at approximately $4.8 billion (34.49 billion Chinese Yuan), has introduced Melodio, which it claims is the world's first AI-powered music streaming platform.
Melodio offers personalized, AI-generated music streams tailored to users' moods and scenarios.
Kunlun, known for its web browser Opera and as the former owner of Grindr, reports an average monthly active user base of nearly 400 million across various sectors, including content distribution and gaming. The company previously invested $20 million in Musical.ly, which was acquired by ByteDance in 2017 and later merged with TikTok.
Last summer, Kunlun’s Star Group Interactive division acquired a stake in Singularity AI for $160 million, followed by a $400 million investment in its Star Group division.
With Melodio, users can input prompts like “energetic music for a long drive” or “mellow tunes for morning coffee,” receiving customized music streams crafted for their specific occasions.
