A Good Movie just got better!

Grammy Award-winning producer and acclaimed hip-hop artist Pi’erre Bourne today confirmed some very special guests for his first Australian and New Zealand headlining tour, the Good Movie tour, which kicks off next month. Illusive Presents, Frontier Touring and Whatslively (AU only) are excited to announce that joining Pi’erre Bourne are special guests dameeeela in Brisbane at The Triffid on Tuesday 13 December; Horizon in Melbourne at 170 Russell on Wednesday 14 December; SETTINGS in Sydney at Metro Theatre on Friday 16 December; and Dera Meelan in Auckland at Powerstation on Saturday 17 December. Returning to Australia and New Zealand after opening for superstar Drake on his massive sold-out Boy Meets World arena tour in 2017, the celebrated artist and highly sought-after hip-hop producer says he will bring the energy to his fans around the world like never before.

Pi’erre Bourne launched his Good Movie world tour in September at Boston’s House of Blues, with The Harvard Crimson stating: “True connection could be seen not only between Pi’erre and his fans, but also between the fans themselves. The immaculate vibe was evident as strangers could be spotted dancing and singing the words to each other, lost in the magic of Pi’erre’s beats. Fans left with full hearts and ringing ears.”

Brisbane-based multi-hyphenate DJ, producer, radio host and Yuggera woman, dameeeela has steadily amassed a following and reputation as one of the most in-demand selectors with an ability to cater to any audience, energy and genre, from hip-hop to acid to the classics and back again. Praised as an innovative tastemaker, her mixes burst with electric passion and are rife with experimentation, and is a mainstay of the Brisbane music and culture scene. Her debut single, the euphoric techno banger The Shake Up ft.Tjaka was released earlier this year.

Multi award-winning producer and artist Dera Meelan meshes styles across genres to create his own hypnotising soundscape. Dera Meelan is a part of music collective YKK alongside Church & AP and deadforest, producing their award-winning debut album Teeth in 2019. His record with deadforest took him from New Zealand’s underground hip-hop scene to international audiences, with their track Fire Sale going viral and generating 8+ million streams. Dera continues to release music of his own, fusing hip-hop, house, electronic, grime and everything in between.

Horizon is Australia’s #1 RnB DJ, headlining some of the country’s largest festivals including RnB Fridays Live, and has supported Usher, Tyga, Rita Ora, Lil Uzi Vert, Nelly, Jason Derulo, A$AP Rocky, Ja Rule, Fatman Scoop, Lupe Fiasco, Ty Dolla $ign and many more. With sets full of the best RnB, hip-hop and party jams, Horizon is the go-to DJ for world-class events including the Formula 1 Grand Prix and Australian Open.

This exclusive run of dates celebrates Pi’erre Bourne’s latest album Good Movie, a 23-song set that firmly establishes him as one of the most talented multi-hyphenates in rap. The project boasts collaborations with Don Toliver and Young Nudy, following on from his critically acclaimed 2021 album The Life of Pi’erre 5 and the release of Yo!88 in collaboration with TM88 and recent works with the legendary Juicy J on Space Age Pimpin’.

Pi’erre Bourne has reshaped the sound of modern hip-hop and become one of rap’s most in-demand producers. He’s responsible for crafting the breakout hits of many prominent hip-hop acts today, and without him, hip-hop’s cultural landscape would look very different. Often imitated, never duplicated, his beats are built on a happy, trappy latticework of drum sounds, synths, flutes and vocals — all built from scratch and all distorted and tweaked in ways only Pi’erre’s brain can muster. Along the way, he’s amassed more than 220 million streams on Spotify with more than 2.6 monthly listeners. As Pitchfork declared, “You can’t have a conversation about the best rap producers of the last few years without mentioning Pi’erre Bourne.”

Don’t miss seeing hip-hop’s future, Pi’erre Bourne, when he brings his unique blend of hip-hop and rapid-fire rap to venues in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland next month, with some of the most exciting hip-hop and RnB DJs heating up the audiences.
