Currently based in Manchester, Reid’s long-awaited return home marks her first live shows in the region since her 2020 release Out of My Province. A record defined by artistic evolution and personal transformation, Enter Now Brightness showcases Reid at her most assured, presenting a collection of songs that reflect a profound internal shift. The album has been met with glowing reviews, with MOJO hailing it as “a questing robustness… the perspective to seek out answers to long-hanging questions.” ★★★★
Known for her thoughtful and emotionally resonant songwriting, Reid moves beyond the folk framework that once defined her. “I still feel uncomfortable about the word folk,” she explains. “It’s too confining.” On Enter Now Brightness, she charts new sonic territory, crafting a sound that is uniquely her own—bold, expansive, and deeply personal.
The album was shaped by a period of immense change. After delaying a planned move to the UK in 2020, Reid gave birth to her first daughter, Elliotte, in 2021, and her second, Goldie, in 2024. That same year, she finally relocated to Manchester, where the seeds of Enter Now Brightness took root.
“This record is about departure and questioning,” says Reid. “It reminded me that songwriting can be the most useful thing to do with pain and joy and thoughts and feelings and anger. I’m so much better off now that it exists. Now feels like a new time.”
With this December tour, Reid brings her most compelling work yet to audiences across Aotearoa and Australia. Fans can expect a powerful live experience that blends old favourites with the luminous new songs of Enter Now Brightness.
