Envisaged by the principal Alastair Sinton, who approached woodwork teacher Tia Beaufort, to organise and record some of our most talented musicians. As well as teaching woodwork at school, Tia Beaufort also plays the drums and produces music for hip hop artist JessB, Raiza Biza and other hip hop artists.

Over the past few months, Tia has been working closely with the featured artists to complete the album before NCEA study leave. ‘2020’ includes a variety of artists, bands, genres, and year levels, highlighting the diversity of music students are creating here at MMC. Taking the project to another level is MMC's Art Department and Year 12 art student Sonny Eades, who designed the album's original artwork as part of his art portfolio assessment.
‘2020’ is available now on all streaming platforms, Tiktok and Instagram Stories - just search 'MMC 2020'.
