Hothouse Flowers Announce 2026 Tour – First in Two Decades

Tuesday 01 July 2025

Irish rock-folk outfit Hothouse Flowers will return to Australian stages in February 2026, marking their first national tour here in over 20 years.

Formed in Dublin in the early 1980s, the band are known for blending rock, traditional Irish folk, and American gospel, creating a dynamic and spontaneous live experience. Their return is highly anticipated by long-time fans and new audiences alike.

Originally rising to fame after winning Street Entertainers of the Year in 1985, the band secured a deal with PolyGram thanks in part to the support of U2’s Bono. Their debut album People (1988) topped the Irish charts and reached No. 2 in the UK, featuring the enduring fan favourite Don’t Go.

Subsequent albums including Home (1990) and Songs from the Rain (1993) solidified their reputation internationally. Their version of I Can See Clearly Now gained renewed attention when it featured in the opening scene of The Grand Tour in 2016. Most recently, the band released Let’s Do This Thing in 2020.

Hothouse Flowers are known for their improvisational spirit and genre-crossing live sets. No two performances are the same, with sets ranging from driving rock anthems to stripped-back folk ballads, often accompanied by spontaneous detours and crowd interaction.

For fans of Irish music and energetic live performance, this will be a tour worth marking on the calendar. See dates
