Jim Beam Homegrown celebrates 15 years and multi million payout milestones

Wednesday 28 September 2022

Pulling one successful gig is an accomplishment, so for our original all-Kiwi music festival, Jim Beam Homegrown to be celebrating 15 years is something else! A generation has now grown up “gettin a taste” of kiwi every year as summer comes to a close.

Jim Beam Homegrown has announced the first acts scheduled to take to Wellington's Waterfront, on March 18th, 2023, and includes Drax Project, Shihad, Shapeshifter, Sir Dave Dobbyn, SACHI, Gin Wigmore, Mitch James, Ladi6, Katchafire, JessB, Lee Mvtthews, Sons of Zion and Savage.

At a time when the trend of summer music festivals leans heavily towards programming mainly electronic music artists, Jim Beam Homegrown continues to deliver something for everyone.

Reaching another impressive milestone on their 15th Birthday, the festival has clicked over more than 6 million dollars in direct payments to New Zealand artists throughout the years as well as paying a significant amount towards recorded music royalties, making Jim Beam Homegrown music festival one of the biggest independent supporters of NZ music.

Festival Director Andrew Tuck explains; “It's astounding to look back on the past 15 years and look at the festival we have created. We have always been 100% pure New Zealand Music and love celebrating the massive amount of talent we have on our very own doorstep. To stop and reflect on the value we have put back into the industry makes our team super proud and driven to continue doing what we do.”

Tuck explains “it’s been difficult for everyone this year and our goal is to allow Kiwi’s to let their hair down for a day, come together and celebrate who we are through our music. We’ve made some exciting changes to the festival layout that will make it a fresh experience for our loyal fans and ensure it’s one of the best festival experiences of summer for those that haven’t celebrated with us before”

Jim Beam Homegrown takes pride in its clean facilities, efficient Bars and incredible sound and stage environments. Event organisers promise the latest version of the festival will set the bar even higher. One of the great “twists' of the festival is the freedom to come and go as you please.

The full line-up announcement which is expected in early November will see more great Kiwi talent complete the already loaded variety of acts. Tickets are on sale now at homegrown.net.nz.
