Henry Rollins & his Good To See You tour is rolling in
Wednesday 08 February 2023
Multidisciplinary US punk icon Henry Rollins returns to New Zealand this July for a string of headline spoken word shows. The former Black Flag and Rollins Band frontman was last in our neck of the woods in 2016, and has since racked up a wealth of new material, drawing from "the events of his life in the pre-Covid period since the last tour, and when things got even stranger over the past year". Christened the Good To See You Tour, Rollins will be gracing venues in Devonport, Auckland City, Ōtautahi and Pōneke. Eager beavers can nab themselves a spot when presales drop next Monday the 13th, with general tickets going on sale Wednesday 15th. Pop a reminder into your calendar immediately, and take in all the details below..
Henry Rollins Good To See You Tour
Wednesday 5th July - The Vic Theatre, Devonport
Thursday 6th July - SkyCity Theatre, Auckland
Friday 7th July - James Hay Theatre, Christchurch
Saturday 8th July - Old St Pauls, Wellington
Rollins’ popular spoken word performances, or “talking shows,” mix political commentary and personal anecdote, humour, outrage, and pop culture, all with a healthy dose of scepticism.
For his first New Zealand tour in seven years, Henry Rollins recounts the events of his life in the pre-Covid period since the last tour, and when things got even stranger over the past year. It's been an interesting time to say the least and as always Rollins has some great stories to tell.
Henry Rollins has toured the world as a spoken word artist, as frontman for both Rollins Band and Black Flag and as a solitary traveller with insatiable curiosity, favouring road-less-travelled locales in places such as Nepal, Sri Lanka, Siberia, North Korea, South Sudan and Iran.
Entertainment Weekly describes Rollins as “Punk Rock icon. Spoken word poet. Actor. Author. DJ. Is there anything this guy can’t do?”
