Devilskin tour lineup to include reformed Tadpole
Thursday 21 March 2024
Pulling out all the stops, DEVILSKIN have stacked the line-up for a killer powerhouse 12-date tour with two very special guests on board for all shows: a surprising reformation of Auckland rock band TADPOLE, featuring the dynamic indie-pop-punk singer EMMA DILEMMA, and the irrepressibly raucous energy of progressive Auckland rock duo SKINNY HOBOS.
Released in 2014, WE RISE was the much anticipated and aptly named album that put the band front and centre-stage of the NZ rock scene, shooting straight to the top of the charts and taking out both the #1 Album and #1 Kiwi Artist album spots. From there on in, the album quickly achieved Gold then Double Platinum status, thus earning DEVILSKIN a well-deserved place in the hearts of hard rock/metal fans and cementing a future based around a relentless touring schedule.
"We are delighted to be touring again and getting around the countryside to see, and thank, the amazing people we have met in the decade since we released We Rise. There's an army of people that have contributed to Devilskin being where we are now, and this tour is a big, fat, celebratory thank you from us. It's going to be a lot of fun. The audience are getting an absolute treat with Tadpole and Skinny Hobos bringing the party. We promise a night to remember!”
Well-known for a string of huge radio-friendly singles, TADPOLE’s legacy as a highly successful and hard-working four-piece rock act makes them a perfect fit for the WE RISE tour, regularly playing numerous live shows in the early 2000’s before eventually disbanding in 2006.
The line-up for the tour features original drummer Dean Lawton and guitarist Chris Yong and the singing prowess of energetic Emma Dilemma.
Says Chris: “We are really excited to be back in 2024, celebrating 21 years of our Medusa album, to give people the chance to experience Tadpole’s music live and loud again, and to play these shows alongside the mighty Devilskin is an opportunity we couldn’t pass up! Two generations of great kiwi rock have come together for this tour, and it is something people will not want to miss.”
Noisy two-piece alternative rock band SKINNY HOBOS round off the high-energy line-up, ready to impress with their loud, gritty, straight down the barrel rock ‘n’ roll and big sound.
The hairy duo of Alex Elvis and Texas Holdom are back on home turf and pumped to bring back their stomping live set, saying: “Playing live is a part of who we are and we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take on the country with two of NZ rock’s biggest names in Devilskin and Tadpole. We can’t wait to make a whole lotta noise!”
