Blackstone's Hipgnosis Songs Fund is no longer a publicly traded Company
Today marks the end of Hipgnosis Songs Fund as a publicly traded entity. The company, which debuted on the London Stock Exchange in July 2018, had its listing officially canceled this morning, July 30.
The delisting follows Blackstone's successful acquisition of Hipgnosis, which won a bidding war against Concord. A regulatory update on July 29 revealed that the "entire issued and to be issued share capital of Hipgnosis is now owned by [Lyra] Bidco," the entity that acquired Hipgnosis, funded by Blackstone.
Today's market announcement confirmed the cancellation of Hipgnosis shares on the Official List and their removal from trading on the Main Market, effective from 8:00 AM.
As part of the acquisition, several board members—including Robert Naylor, Cindy Rampersaud, and Francis Keeling—have resigned. Ben Katovsky, CEO of Hipgnosis Song Management, and CFO Dan Pounder have been appointed to the Hipgnosis Board.
