Aerosmith rocks the world one last time with farewell tour 'Peace Out' after 50 years of music history

Legendary rock band Aerosmith has announced their farewell tour, called "Peace Out," starting on September 2 in Philadelphia and ending on January 26 in Montreal, with 40 stops in between. The band, who has been in the industry for over 50 years, has decided that now is the time to say goodbye, with all founding members over the age of 70. While the group had a successful Las Vegas residency recently, they are excited to get back on the road for a "real tour" and celebrate the 50 years they've been in the business.

Joe Perry, the band's guitarist, said that it's "kind of a chance to celebrate the 50 years we've been out here," and that they want to take the opportunity to dig into their extensive catalogue of rock classics. Aerosmith has won four Grammys and has broken boundaries by collaborating with Run-DMC for "Walk This Way," which intersected rock and hip-hop. They also performed at the Super Bowl halftime show in 2001 and had their own theme park ride.

While drummer Joey Kramer will not be joining the current tour, the band promises that his "legendary presence behind the drum kit will be sorely missed." Perry called Kramer their brother, and the drummer is on leave to focus on his family and health since the Vegas residency last year.

Though it is called the final farewell tour, Perry hinted that there could be more shows domestically and internationally, but it's uncertain if the band will return to the same cities. Steven Tyler, the band's frontman, summed up the tour by saying, "We're opening up Pandora's Box one last time to present our fans with the Peace Out tour. Be there or beware as we bring all the toys out of the attic. Get ready."
