AC/DC Announce Long-Awaited Stadium Tour of Australia

Monday 23 June 2025

It’s official: AC/DC are coming home.

The legendary rock outfit will make their long-overdue return to Australia this year for a national stadium tour, kicking off Wednesday, November 12 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. It marks the band’s first Australian shows in nearly a decade, with a five-date run that takes in Sydney, Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane.

All shows will feature support from explosive Melbourne punk outfit Amyl and the Sniffers.

The tour was announced today, Monday, June 23, confirming whispers from Rolling Stone AU/NZ, who tipped the news last week.

Produced by TEG, the 2025 trek will be AC/DC’s first Australian tour since the Rock or Bust stadium run in 2015, which moved more than 520,000 tickets across 11 coast-to-coast dates — including stops in Auckland and Wellington. Before that, their Black Ice Tour in 2009 sold a staggering 750,000 tickets, 650,000 of those in Australia alone.

Both tours were delivered by the Van Egmond Group, now part of the TEG family following a 2020 acquisition. The company is currently led by Christo Van Egmond, son of the late Garry Van Egmond, the long-time promoter behind AC/DC’s tours in Australasia.

By the time the band hits Australia, they’ll be well and truly battle-hardened — their Power Up world tour continues across European stadiums from June 26, with stops in Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden, and more. The band wrapped up a North American leg just last month.

Fans can expect to hear career-spanning anthems from across AC/DC’s 17 studio albums — including 2020’s Power Up, which topped the ARIA Albums Chart and went No. 1 in the US and UK. The touring lineup includes Angus Young (lead guitar), Brian Johnson (vocals), Stevie Young (rhythm guitar), Matt Laug (drums) and Chris Chaney (bass).

AC/DC are one of only two bands to be inducted into both the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (2003) and the ARIA Hall of Fame (1988), the other being the Bee Gees.
