Swap a can for chips is back in the Bay!
Tuesday 03 November 2020
The annual tradition of cans for chips is back at Nandos across NZ this week. For the week of 2nd November, you can bring in a can of non-perishable food to any Nando's and they will swap it for regular PERi-PERi chips.
In the Bay of Plenty, you can stop off at the Bayfair Shopping Centre Nando's store. All cans donated in the BOP will go straight to the Good Neighbour group. Good Neighbour provides practical support to a wide range of people who are struggling in our community through food rescue and other outlets.
Last year Nandos managed to get 6,064 cans (with 343 being donated to Good Neighbour) This year, they are aiming to reach 10,000 cans.
“Our local charity partners have been experiencing increased demand for their services as a result of COVID-19, with Good Neighbour and many others, working overtime to help a growing number of Kiwis who are struggling,” says Nando’s Marketing Manager, Alex Dawson.
“We want to help where we can and are hopeful this initiative will go some way towards providing our charity partners with the additional support they need heading into Christmas.”
