Tauranga City & Western Bay of Plenty Easter holiday rubbish hours

With Easter approaching, here’s all you need to know about how rubbish collection services will be managed across the Western Bay and Tauranga City over the long weekend.

 

WESTERN BAY

Easter rubbish collections normally completed on Fridays will be picked up on Easter Saturday, 3 April 2021, due to the Good Friday holiday. Easter Monday collections will be as normal.

Residents are asked to please put bins and bags out at the normal time.

Please contact your service provider directly if you have any questions regarding kerbside rubbish and recycling collections.

Western Bay of Plenty District Council's Community Recycling and Greenwaste Centres will operate under usual business hours and opening days. Athenree will also be open on Easter Monday from 10 am to 4 pm.

Saturday - 9am to 12 noon
Sunday - 1pm to 4pm
Monday – 10am to 4pm

Katikati
Saturday - 9am to 4pm
Sunday - 9am to 12 noon

Omokoroa Greenwaste (greenwaste only)
Saturday - 2pm to 4pm

Te Puke
Saturday - 8am to 4pm

TAURANGA CITY

If you’re making plans, please know that there are changes to waste collections on Good Friday. All kerbside collections for Friday 2 April (rubbish, recycling, glass, and garden waste), will take place on Saturday 3 April instead. The transfer stations will also be closed. There are no changes for collections on Easter Monday.

Good Friday, 2 April
- Collections will be done on Saturday 3 April - this applies to Bellevue, Bethlehem north, Brookfield, Bureta, Judea north, Otumoetai and Matua
- Transfer stations are closed for the day

Easter Monday, 5 April
- No change to collections
- Transfer stations open 9am – 5pm
