Welcome Bay residents urged to conserve water for 24 hours.

The Tauranga City Council has urged Welcome Bay residents, in a recent Media Advisory, to conserve water as much as possible and avoid the roads surrounding the site.
"Yesterday work started on fixing a water main break on Welcome Bay Road, near the intersection of Waitaha Road. As the issue is putting pressure on the water supply to Welcome Bay, residents in the area are asked to conserve water where possible for the next 24 hours," says the statement.
"Our contractors are working hard to fix the main, however the complexity of the break means work is taking longer than expected. It is also impeding our ability to get sufficient supply into reservoir and low pressure may be experienced in both Welcome Bay and Papamoa.
Traffic is being controlled by a stop-go system. Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible."
