It’s a dog’s life

Monday 24 February 2020

Socializing and physical activity go hand in hand, promoting good physical and mental wellbeing –

and not just for us two-legged creatures!

That’s why the Western Bay District Council is hosting its fifth annual Doggy Day Out, a fun event

guaranteed to get tails wagging, noses sniffing and creatures of all kinds having an awesome time.

Held at Jubilee Park, Te Puke, this free event is an opportunity for people to bring out their dogs for

the day – show them off, have fun and take part in educational and fun-activities based around dogs.

The activities aim to promote good dog care: welfare education; training tips and to give dog owners

the chance to talk to the experts about dog-related issues such as behaviour and welfare. There will

be agility action, thanks to the Mount Agility Club, a photobooth for you and your pooch to get one

for the ‘gram, and swimming pools on site for the doggos to cool down in.

Entertainment will include a variety of events, demonstrations and fun for the kids, including a

bouncy castle, face painting and you can buy a raffle ticket to win a kennel.

What better way to spend a Saturday than chilling with man’s and woman’s best friend!
