Free buses to Tauranga campuses
Monday 09 March 2020
Did you know if you live in Katikati, Rotorua or Whakatāne and are enrolled to study with the University of Waikato or Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology in 2020 you have access to free buses?! A collab between the two education providers, the Bay of Plenty Regional Council and NZTA, sees a free regional bus service operating daily for students living outside the city centre, with pick up and drop off points along the way into town – such as Bayfair, Tauranga Crossing, Te Puna and Bethlehem. This service is free for all enrolled University of Waikato and Toi Ohomai students with a valid student ID. All routes arrive in Tauranga & CBD before 9am and carry on to drop off at Toi Ohomai & Windermere campus, then depart Toi Ohomai before 5pm and the CBD just after 5pm.
Why take the bus?
- You can save your Studylink for more important things than petrol and parking.
- You skip the traffic in the bus lane and there’s no parking hassles.
- You’re doing good for the planet and yourself, and that’s pretty cool!
