Courting success: Basketball for the community

The 3X3 Quest Tour is returning to Tauranga, with more prizes to be won and free entry fee for all to have a go at this fast-paced

format of basketball: Streetball.

Streetball brings the skills of five-aside basketball outdoors in a fast-paced format that's easy to play. It’s played on a half court,

mainly within the arc, which means lots of skill and manoeuvring in a small space.

There are Open, U19, U17 and U15 grades for men and women, and prizes for the winners of each grade. Plus, the winner of the

Open Mens grade will be eligible to compete at the World Tour Qualifier Final in Christchurch on Saturday, March 28, with the

winner from that event receiving an all-expenses paid trip to Japan to represent their city at the World Tour Masters later in 2020.

This event is not only fun for players, but also exciting for spectators to watch, with a new game every 15 minutes on eight courts.
